Marriage
This year is a good year for marriage.. cos from the record number of ROMs and Wedding Dinner i'm attending, it appears to be so...
Starting from May, my cousin got married.. then i think in June my poly mate got married.. afterwhich my Secondary School classmate got ROM.. follow by HIS sister ROM... then there was a break in between because of the lunar 7 month... afterwhich in chinses 8th month, my niece got married (which i didn't attend cos i refuse to believe i have a niece, my cousin daughter, who is a few months younger then me and is getting married.. and that i will be a grandaunt MAYBE soon)... follow by HIS sister customary... and after that my distant-cousin (which i didn't attend cos its in m'sia)... and about 2 weeks back my ex-ex boss (which i also didn't attend cos its a weekday and i was at AMK that day.. to rush back to town will be unthinkable)... and today i will be attending the wedding of my ex-ex colleague...
and out of all these ROM and wedding that I attended... all are on weekday except for that of my polymate... think its really a good year that it is rather difficult to book for a weekend banquet...
don't really like to attend weekday wedding dinner... if it is on Friday its still not so bad.. but if any other day will be quite tiring.. cos i have to wake up earlier on that day to try to kiap my hair so that it is straight... and still need to pray and hope that it will last till the end of the day... besides gotta bring my clothes to change for the dinner... and if the dinner end late next day will be disaterous... and catching a cab back will be another problem...
but however although I do not like attending a weekday wedding dinner I will still go and share the joy of my friends and relatives... and I'm really grateful to all who genenuinely wanted to share their joy with me... so I will still wake up early and make all the necessary preparation and suffer from a lack of sleep the next day.. its all okie.. so long as my friends are happy... :)

Savings...
recently I have been reading other pple's travel blogs... i'm full of envy.... how i wish i could go to the places, be it a small town or a busy city... take nice photos and enjoy the serenity....
WE are planning for our Japan trip... it has been postpone from next year to 2008... reason being, HE wants to go in spring to take a look at the sakura... and next year will be too rush as we don't have enough time to save...
even if the trip is in 2008 i will have a bit of problem saving... have to cut down my expenses by half.... and that is really a lot... gotta really really scrimp and save le... gotta eat cheaper food.. buy lesser CDs, books and clothes... entertainment must be cheap and good....
and not only that... i don't own a digital camera now... so i have to save for my digicam also... which makes me even more broke broke... probably can only pray for good bonus to pay it... and also to fund my insurance...
god.. how do i make more money???

By invitation only
I get to know from Tada that blogspot recently have a new feature which is "By Invitation Only"... which means I can close my blog to the general public and only allow those users who I invite into reading it...
Well, this will keep away unwanted readers... hmmm.. in the first place I don't think there is any.. hahahaha... but it means I can post somethings and scold someone and let my close friends know without letting the general public or "other" pple know....
is it a good idea?? maybe so... but somethings i don't mind sharing with everyone... if only they allow individual posting permissions.. like wat tada have in vox... or maybe i should setup another blog just for my friends... but that will be so "lei chay"... hmmm...

Penguin Book Fair + Food Fest
Was down at Expo yesterday... initial plan is to go for the food fest.. wanted to see if they sell my taiwan milk tea cheap over there.. and of course to try out new food and new tidbits...
went online to check and realise on the sameday there is a penguin book fair.. since i gotta wait for another friend so i went in to check out the books first... much to my surprise there are quite alot of books to buy... din't realise that so many publishers come under penguin... besides, I saw some books which i previously bought at kino and haven't read yet, selling for only $5 over there *heartache*.... so not to lose out i bought another 6 more books.. costing me only $30 in total.. actually so more books but decide not to spend so much money... and will be too heavy to carry it in the food fest...
after mental food... went on to the physical food... spend quite alot there buying tidbits, soup materials and some cooking sauces... will try them out with HIM and maybe cook for the rest next time... besides gotta prepare pot-luck for poly xmas gathering...
have a fun time eating and buying.. but broke broke now.... :'(

True Music Appreciation
Was watching "Cross Talk (針鋒相對)" yesterday. The topic for the day is about Rain concert ticket selling at a price of SGD888. I only manage to catch the last 10 minutes of the show.. but the male guest speaker is enough to irritate me...
There is 2 main points he made... He says that just by "隨隨便便" singing and dancing on the stage Rain gets to earn that kind of money (btw i'm not a fan of Rain)... and how could they compare themselves with those 男高音... and went on to condemn the pop culture.. saying they don't last... and he insists that the pop pple don't put in as much hardwork as the rest... reason being, those in the classical side have to start training from young.. and he don't believe the pple from the pop will do such a thing... So in the 10 minutes he just condemn the pop culture and give the impression that its uncouth... and those that listen to classical are "better"
true as it seems, he irritates me and displays a character which i don't wish to comment... but he does remind me of myself in some sense...
like him... i sort-of condemn boy-band... actually i don't really condemn boy-band... just that i don't like pple to classify MD as a boyband... but does it make me more superior just because i'm supporting MD and not XXXX?? does it makes me more refine just because i appreciate rock band rather then some commercialise boy band?? No doubt... at a point in time i think that those pple that support boyband has no taste.. and i'm able to appreciate music more just because i support rock band?? all these are bullshit... whether its commercialise or not so long as a music you like personally why bother whether its commercialise or classical or watsoever? trying to act knowledgable or more superior just shows my stupidity....
but i do not agree that "pop" pple do not put in effort... yes they might not be trained from young.. but the effort they put in should also not be undermined... be it MD or XXXX... they all put in effort and hardwork to their job... so we should not overlook such a matter just because of other things... and yes.. in the past i always say XXXX can't sing and yucks to them.. but now i don't deny the hardwork they put in.. look at the shows they host... whether or not they are out to cheat the money of others all i can say is 一個願打一個願挨 what else can we say?
no.. i'm not about to change myself to a XXXX fan... just maybe i should be more receptive to everybody music.. just like when Chrisy put up the moon lyrics in her blog... listen to the music first before you know who is the singer.. then u will be able to put down your prejudice.. then you will be able to appreciate true music....

Title-less
Dunno is it because I have been slacking too much at work recently... i just have a feeling that I might not be able to adjust myself back to the correct momentum of heavy work... nope, I'm still quite "eng" now.. but I dunno when my project ends, will life be still as good... and my major concern is whether I will be able to adapt back to that kind of momentum... i hope i can...
have been thinking of going overseas... especially when DD told me that tix to HK is only SGD160 after tax.... super tempting right??? but i bloody hell no leave... and have been thinking to myself that i shld try to save out more so I can go somewhere further...
a "colleague" just came back from Japan for honeymoon... he spends a total of about 5K for 2 pax for a 2 weeks tour!!! so if I save for a good trip.. maybe i will be able to go to JP in june next year... so just have to keep tat in mind bah... *sighz*

Family Day
Yesterday was my client's family day. As an attach staff over there, we have to join in their family day so we don't have to work on that day... so happy for us cos it meant a short working week...
The meeting place for the family day is 8:30am at JE MRT, where we will take a coach to our local tour place... but goodness me overslept and literally jumped out of bed at 7:32am... took a quick shower and went off without any breakfast... and manage to arrive just on time...
The first place we visit is an otah "factory" at hougang... my colleague JC was quite upset why they chose to meet at JE mrt.. cos her flat is just 2 blocks away... its a 5 minute walk for her.. instead of taking an hour of mrt ride to reach JE... and I use quotes for the factory cos its not really a factory factory.. as in the place is actually quite small... but they do produce otah... in fact the otah is quite nice.. but i won't put up their name and url here cos I tot the boss attitude was a bit bad... should have been more polite to us... and the best thing.. he kept complaining about the manners of the AD's son... keep wanting to teach him to receive his "prize" (which happens to be otah) with both hands and maintain eye contact with him ><||| Anyway at the otah factory manage to learn that the leaf that we use to wrap the otah comes from coconut leaves... always tot its banana... hahahahaha...
next we move on to the soon kuey "factory" just beside... the staff there are more friendly.. but i only bot a curry puff from them.. cos very scared the soon kuey will spoil by the time i reach home which is in the evening.... but the curry puff was quite nice.. skin is crispy and the potato feeling was good... too bad its a bit too far to go buy....
after the "factories" we move on to a hydro-phonic farm in yishun area.... this is where i think is the most enjoyable amoung the whole day tour... our guide is a young lady.. probably even younger then me... she says that they are the only hydro-phonic farm left in SG... and in 4 years time, they will probably close down... this is because the govt is asking them to shift to CCK area.. however, to setup a farm like that.. it will take the bosses about 10 years to breakeven... so most likely the bosses will just choose to give up on the farm.. besides she says that its real difficult to employ pple as farmers... its a pity really... especially when i see the enthusium of the guide...
the first section we see in the farm is the preparation room... this is the place where they prepare the "water" for the plants.. where the pour in all the "nutrients" which the plants need... here the guide asked a question.. she says that they are pesticide free.. but they are not organic and anybody know why? I tot most pple would noe.. but nobody replied.. so i replied "because the fertilizer used contain chemicals" and for that she say she will give me a prize later... din't really wanted the prize at the point of time.. answered just for the fun of it... but who noes...
and slowly we move on to the germation room... and saw the plants inside.. and beside it is the spices "plantation".. so she plucked a few basil leaves for us to try eating it raw... and i ate.. its quite okie.. and she says basil leaves are good for increasing potency (hahaha).... then we move on to see the "kang kong"... she says that kang kong is a plant that is the easiest to plant.. its very difficult for it to "die" and again she pluck us some kang kong to eat... its again quite nice...
at the end of the farm tour.. she has some question for us so with prizes.... the first question she ask was "what are the 3 things needed for germation"... everybody was just answering like that (including me) but she suddenly just turn to me and ask so i answered "water, air and warm".. and for tat i won a small pot of "basil leaves" plant... then she remembered she owe me another prize and went to give me a plant which i can't remember the name.. but the plant is suppose to help prevent or relieve fever and headaches.. its smells a bit like "wan sui" the green onion u put in the soup... and she also introduced us to the "lemon balm".. it smells a bit like lemon grass.. it contains a lot of vitamin C and is good for reducing stress... can pluck a few leaves and put it in honey and it will taste good... but i didn't manage to win that.. but i quite like the plant so i went to buy it at $2...
after the farm tour we went to have lunch at a resturant in BL shopping center... i'm sure you those leaving near there will know which resturant is it.. food there is generally quite nice.. we were even teasing our PL suggesting that he could have his wedding dinner there.. cos the food were really nice...
after lunch we went off to the last destination which is the famous fish "farm" at CCK... i'm sure most of you will know which is it... but i must say the "tour" there was disappointing... unlike at the hydro-phonic farm, this tour was unorganize.. most of the time were spend standing there not knowing what we are waiting for... in the end we were quite bored that a few of us walk off to the cafe to sit down and have a cup of coffee... and soon it was time to leave...
and by 3:30pm we were already back at JE.. so chop chop we greeted each other bye bye and off i go home... and was home by 4pm... so shiok.... i really enjoy the tour at the hydro-phonic farm.. its a pity its so far... otherwise i might go back there again...

Bye Bye W950I
While Nic want to say hi to her new dream fone, I have to say bye bye to my W950I... decide the scrape the idea of buying it after all.. because of
now i'm considering to use the money for the fone to get myself a digi cam.... *thinking thinking*
- price issue... it costs 900+ after 2 years contract... too expensive
- suspect might not pass my company's security check because of the internal 4g memory
- no chinese input... i think this is the major contributing factor bah.... chinese input is important to me...
now i'm considering to use the money for the fone to get myself a digi cam.... *thinking thinking*

Did you noe that "Escalator" use to be a trademark... until it was so widely use by the public that the trademark was force to drop?

Commonwealth Sec
Nope I don't come from this secondary school... but I have friends from there.. during my time, Commonwealth Sec is a rather good school... the students are nice too... but today I met a bunch of kids from there which make me really shake head...
I was taking the train from home to work.. and I had to get down at TB... as usual, the morning train was quite pack... and when we arrive at TB there is also a group of commonwealth student trying to get down... at first i only notice one.. cos he was at myside... and when there was pple blocking his way, instead of saying "excuse me", he just push his way through... then i realise that over the otherside there is a whole bunch of them... and similarly the first in their bunch was pushing their way through to get down... and the rest follow in a line out... if the line "breaks", the next person will sort of push his way to make the "line" join back... i'm like duhz.... and when the closing door alert starts to ring, they push their way even harder.... so scared that they can't get down the train... my god.... so i just stood there waiting for them to finish before i get down cos I'm really afraid they will push me to the floor....
and when finally they are out of the train... they crowd around the escalator slowly taking their own sweet time and at the sametime waiting to see all has gotten down... don't they know that its very dangerous to crowd around the escalator??
i dunno is it that generally kids nowadays are poor mannered or there is a problem with the school teaching....

and when finally they are out of the train... they crowd around the escalator slowly taking their own sweet time and at the sametime waiting to see all has gotten down... don't they know that its very dangerous to crowd around the escalator??

This morning in the train...
I saw the girl sitting beside me reading ERP notes.. for a while i tot she is from NUS going for her exams at suntec... really reminds me of CS3264... but she got down at dover.. so most prob she is from SP... din't know they actually offer ERP in poly now... during my time, erp is not an "in" thing... and her dressing also... i dunno wat to say... she tied her half her hair.. but at the side... with a rubber band that has a red and white strips plastic puffy ribbon at the top... ermmmmm.... actually i din't think it was ugly.. just do you have to dress in such a way when you are just going to school??
I saw a guy practising his presentation... he was dress in off-black shirt and black pants... with a belt that is a bit too long... carrying a E&Y canvas "briefcase".... well.... hmmm... maybe is because of his looks... just found him irritating... not like his disturbing me.. but from his dressing to the way he presents he reminds me of those no experience "high-flyer"... those that think they are really good... but... okie i think i'm just being grumpy on a lack of sleep wednesday morning... :P
