New Word of the Century

I'm sure this topic has been covered before by others.. but just want to have a bit of say...

One word that has only been discovered and widely use this century is "google". Apart from the site name, it has also become a verb. It is a common habit for us to say "go google for xxx".. "you may google to find it", etc... i also remember seeing the word "googling" being used in such a way in the straits times a few days back...

U can't imagine right? this is how successful google is... you must really take your hats off them.. cos in the past who would say "google"... the internet started off in the late of last century.. then the common search engines are "Yahoo!", "Atla Vista", "Lycos", etc... but have you every heard pple say "go yahoo! it?"... or "go lycos it?".. of course not... google has since taken over most search engines to become the most commonly used search engine by everyone.. try to think back.. when was the last time u use "Lycos" or "Alta Vista"?

So successful it is that "google" has been offically recorded in dictionaries (Please see dictionary.com) . Its now used to describe the action of searching for things in the WWW.
