I read in Nic's blog a few days back about her complaining that she is not busy enuff... she miss the days where she will work to the wee hours and having to spread out 16 (is it 16?) textbooks infront of her to complete an assignment... I miss the days too...
yes.. no doubt i'm having a very busy schedule... a schedule where i get chase by my customers almost everyday... a schedule where i litterally have to work OT every weekday.... but i'm still missing the busy days...
i miss the days where i was working on the HDB project.... than we really work into the wee hours... for a week i haven't been home but was either sleeping in my boss car or at some hotel.. cos jo and mine home are too far away from the project site...
we will work from 7 am seeing the gardenia bread van deliver bread.. to the Bee Cheng Hiang store opening... to the queue building up at the Bee Cheng Hiang store (at was the CNY period).. to the queue subside and build up again due to lunch time and after office hours.. to the bee cheng hiang close for the day... to the gardenia bread coming for his next day delivery...
during that period i slept at most 4 hours a day... not too little for some of you but very little for a person who needs 8 hours of sleep a day... and of the 4 hours maybe some of the time is inside some vehicle... i'm glad i din't die of breathing in too much carbon monoxide... din't even have time to take a bath.. i remember i demo-ed the system to the CEO (?) in sleeveless tee-shirt and shorts... heng there was a PSML (pasar malam) around for me to buy some clothings for changing...
those were the days... very busy... very hectic... but i miss them... wat is it that that period has that is better then now? well now compare to than.. my schedule is only 1/2 as busy... i don't work on weekends.. weekdays i try to end the day at 9 (friday is considered a weekend)... but at least then i was working with my group of colleagues... the bond we build up... and also more importantly you see where your project is getting to... there is improvement everyday... a sense of satisfaction... but now? the project is nvr ending.. cos the customers will come up with nvr ending requirements....
so nic.. its not only you... its me as well... maybe i'm a workoholic like alot of pple say i am.. but i don't have a chance to make my workoholic-ness to good use... shld i be sad or happy? i dunno... seriously i dunno... hectic schedule is bad and tiring over long period... but a sense of achievement and satisfaction is so hard to come by....
today i saw alot of pple complaining about MD busy schedule... asking them not to tire themselves out... seriously i feel tired for them too... but to ask them to stop is it really good for them? i dunno... sometimes when u are so busy, a small rest is welcome... but having so used to a busy schedule, to take a long rest would turn one helpless?
well i think at least for them the schedule may be busy or hectic.. but i think they are to a certain extend enjoying it.. seeing so many pple love-ing their music... seeing their performance being enjoyed by so many pple... i guess the sense of satisfaction and achievement is something which have drive them on... at least they are busy for a reason and with a good effect...
please let me find my effect soon... or i will.... i dunno.. serious, i dunno wat i will do.... :(
