This morning while taking the lift down from my block, my lift stop at a level for a granny and her grandson in a pram. I press the DO button for the granny so she can push the pram into the block. The granny thanks me in chinese and i reply her "no need" back in chinese.
So while in the lift, the grandson keep staring at me... he is very very young.. can't even talk i guess about 1+ bah... he can only make some noise... at first i din't notice him staring at me, until the granny make some noise like talking to him... so i look down at him and he is staring his big eyes at me.. i smile back at him.. than the granny ask her grandson to call AUNTIE... i'm like duhz... hello... call me wat?? AUNTIE!!! excuse me i'm not tat old lor... if the words came out from a kid its not so hurting.. but it came from an adult granny... i'm like... duhz.....

nope.. according to my mum it shld not be base on the age difference between you and the person in question... but rather the age of the person herself... as my mum call other aunties auntie.... u can't probably call an "A-Mm" an auntie right? you still call her "A-Mm"...
so it shld be base on the person's age...
let me tell u sth worse. a j1 student (a GUY frm that CHINESE school wearing shorts at bukit timah) called me AUNTIE when i was working in my sch's bookshop e year after i grad from jc. i rem i scolded him cos of that. =X

Jac, nvm lah... a lot of ppl also calling me auntie leh... =( That day, I was in St Hilda's Pri conducting some course... when the lesson ended... all 33 kids in the class stood up and said "Goodbye AUNTIE"!!! -_-" worse rite? keke
