Well 'O' Level to me is a long over thingy... but today is the release of the 'O' level results... for the past few years i din't bother about it.. but this year 2 of my friend's siblings are taking their results so memories from 10 (bloody) years came flashing back... (god... i feel old... okie i'm old)...
I remember before the collection, the principal have to give some kind of speech telling us generally how our school did.. and i remembered we did badly for our English and Humanities... but our science and maths were rather good...
when i collected my results, i was rather disappointed... cos i din't do well for my English and History... which means i have to go poly rather than continuing with my JC course... than i really enjoyed myself in JC with the friends i found there (except for the tramuatising GP tutor).. so was kinda of sad that i can't continue studying there.... but soon i get over it as i noe i will nvr be able to do well there....
i can't remember if i cried that day... i think i did... because my friends did... hahaha... from my vague memory.. i remember my form teacher telling me she was surprise that i did so badly for my history (she happen to be my history teacher)... i surprise myself too... but i din't feel much except for that bit of disappointment... but i remember i din't cry... than i heard one of my rather good friend is crying inside the toilet... so i went with another friend to look for her... and i think i ended up crying... hahahaa... how can hum bao no 2 not fa hui her talent right?
that was a good 10 years back... now looking back I find myself silly for bothering so much about an 'O' level result... seriously wat does a good 'O' level result say about you? well the most it can say is you are good at studying... or to be exact, good at memorising facts... cos that is the thing being taught in secondary education isn't it? but of course i'm not saying that you shld flunk your way through.. but having a not so ideal result doesn't mean its the end of the world...
sometime i feel glad that i decide to choose the poly path over the JC one... if i persists i know i can jolly well still continue studying in a JC.. but is that wat i want? to fear that i will one day fail my GP? choose what you think you can do rather than pushing yourself to accomplish something that is not wat you like and wat you can achieve.. i have no regrets going to poly.. in fact i think its one of the best decision i have make (ermm.. except the bit about the course i'm studying.. hahaha)... most of my good friends are from my poly... and my best schooling life come from poly itself... its a study environment and place where no other places can fight...
